Children of refuseniks demonstrated in Moscow

A series of demonstrations by refuseniks took place yesterday in Moscow—with a demonstration by children at its center on the occasion of International Children's Day.

About 50 women and about 20 children demonstrated near the "OVIR" building, which houses the department handling the distribution of visas. The demonstrators carried banners. A banner held by a small child read: "I am four and seven years old, a refusenik." A woman's banner called: "Save the souls of our children, and let them live in their country." The banner of the Schwartzman family read: "Three generations of refuseniks."
